Traditional Flagstone Restoration
This type of restoration is one of the most common examples of our work — a full process that restores and protects the natural character of historic flagstone floors.
Once the room is cleared of all fixtures and fittings, cupboards, units, and doors are carefully sealed to minimise dust and simplify the final clean. The original pointing is then removed and replaced with a new, lime-based Somerset mix, ensuring the floor remains fully breathable.
Using dustless technology, we remove years — sometimes centuries — of ingrained dirt and contaminants. A gentle wet process follows to provide a deep clean and open the pores of the stone.
Finally, the flagstones are treated with nourishing natural oils and finished with a light mist of beeswax, restoring their soft sheen and timeless warmth. Once the work is complete, all protective coverings are removed and the newly restored floor is handed back to the client — clean, bright, and ready to enjoy.
