Traditional Flagstone Floor Restoration
This type of restoration is the most common example of our work — a complete process designed to revive and protect original flagstone floors.
Once the room is cleared of all fixtures, fittings, and furnishings, cupboards, units, and doorways are carefully sealed to minimise cleaning at the end of the project. The original pointing is then removed and replaced with our breathable lime-based Somerset mix, allowing the floor to perform as it was intended.
Using dustless technology, we remove ingrained dirt and contaminants that have built up over many years — sometimes centuries. A gentle wet process follows to deeply clean the surface and open the pores of the stone.
The flagstones are then treated with nourishing natural oils and finished with a fine mist of beeswax, restoring a soft, natural sheen. Finally, all protective coverings are removed, and the newly restored floor is handed back to the client — clean, dry, and ready to enjoy.
